Off to Kentucky

August 17th-18th

This was another one of those all night drives from Delaware. We had some poor planning and we arrived in the city at about 6 a.m. During that time we drove around the what seemed like an abandoned city, walked around a skate park, and saw the world's largest baseball bat! ....Oh and of course we had to go eat at an original Kentucky Fried Chicken. Pictures will be below --->

Louisville, Kentucky was solely for reuniting with Alyssa's first art teacher,Tara,  whom she was going to interview for her documentary. This destination was also going to be a special place because it was going to be our first time trying the website called, Airbnb. (A website where you can go anywhere in the world and rent someone's house, apartment, or mansion for cheap! Better than a hotel! I made that a link to the website by the way.) We planned to rent this lady's apartment in the middle of Louisville before we left Florida and we were so excited to actually see it in person. We met the owner there at a certain time to give us the keys and she showed us around her place. She was so cool she had baked us a cake and gave us a sheet of paper with neat events or good restaurants in Louisville to go check out. We stayed one night but we wished we could've stayed longer!

So sad we didn't get an actual picture with you, Tara! We already miss you!

The place was SO perfect and lovely as you can see... so we wrote Sara (the owner) a note out of the paper we made from scratch in Florida.  ^^^^^^^

Nothing Like SUNSHINE in Delaware

August 12-16, 2013 Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

Retiring our traveling house for a sweet little cottage with THREE of the coolest people we know. The top right is the outdoor shower by the way!

    Rehoboth beach was an amazing
scene from the boardwalk to the beach. It was definitely breath-taking .

^Tourist eats great popcorn at FISHER'S^

We had a blast at the PURPLE PARROT for our last night in Rehoboth.

Rehoboth Beach, Delaware was an amazing and unique place When we arrived, it was such a relief because we got to see and be by the water for the first time since FL and the energy was so positive. We made great memories, met local celebrities, bonded with inspiring people, had the time to unwind, relax, and regroup. We did so by going to arcades on the boardwalk, eating sushi, go-kart racing, and sitting on the couch talking by only candle-light. We couldn't thank Alli, Kyle, and Lindsey enough for letting us stay with you all for a few days. One of the best stops! Oh, and it was so nice meeting you, Devon! :)
NOW OFF TO KENTUCKY!

Maryland and D.C.

August 5th, 2013

(PREPARE FOR LONG POST w/pictures and videos)

We arrive in Maryland to meet up with Mykel Lande. So then, should I just spell it like, Marylande? We get there and the first thing Mykel does is offer us our favorite food ever...IHOP. It was soo perfect after driving all day from North Carolina.
Note: Always eat a good meal after a long drive it's necessary for great sleep and unwinding from the day.

*Our sleeping quarters in Mykel's apartment :P

Mykel lives in College Park near the University of Maryland. We traveled back and forth between there and downtown Silver Spring. The next few days we walked around and explored a little. Alyssa used to live with Mykel a few years back so they both got to show us around the beautiful neighborhoods. Maryland has amazing greenery there, but the traffic is so strange! They control traffic by square boxes above the lanes with red X's and green arrows. I had never seen anything like that before. Honestly it's pretty hard navigating because you don't really know where oncoming traffic is besides the lights.

***Please watch all the videos!***

Sorry about the low volume quality! This was recorded on a cell phone :/

Next stop.... The Smithsonian Museum of Natural History!

On the road again... to the Great Falls!!!

All in a days worth... we traveled on to the next beautiful spot that took us hours to find.

We just wanted to take some time to thank Mykel for this amazing opportunity and for all of the love and support we have from our MD family! We love you all! We will never forget the moments we had out there. Stay in touch always and maybe you can come out to CA and visit us! This was our first long stay and there were some beautiful memories that we can pass along the way.

If anyone reading is driving out to the east coast, we recommend staying a few nights to see the museums and make it a point to see the wonderful nature. Definitely go down to DC and take a walk around and check out U St. It's such a different element!

We spent the day goofing around and this was the first time we got to enjoy a day on the town with no obligations.

^ Liz sent us a wonderful update message while we were there and we wanted to share it. You're so cute Lizzy.. you made our day. We hope you're enjoying college! Love you <3

THANK YOU AGAIN EVERYONE IN MARYLAND, IT WAS GREAT!
